Something blue

Nearly a year after the pandemic hit, I received my first full-cancellation e-mail from one of my couples. A statement that was about to become very trendy as I was about to experience six more of those. I stirred my coffee cup and looked outside, a chilly spring morning calling me to think beyond this. I could see the trees were struggling to blossom, it felt like my heart had too a few cold things to overcome. I opened my instagram and started scrolling, dwelling in the desire to be out there: shooting. In a second I stumbled upon a dress that made me stop in my tracks - it was a masterpiece of layered blue pastel tulle by designer Ruth Milliam.

The dress was dreamy, regal and contemporary. It was the badass cinderella. It stirred me to create and so that became my goal for the spring. To put together this project, with a handful of people that I admire, to create magazine worthy images. In a way, it was a manifestation of growth and daring to be bold.

For the entire concept I ran with the idea of “something blue”. The design of the invitations, the room choice, the jewellery, even the shoes! I loved putting together this blue fantasy for my fantasy bride.

This was the inspiration behind this project, to see the final result and more behind the inspiration for this bridal editorial see the entire story here: https://whitewren.com/something-blue/

Many thanks of course to the people who believed in my crazy ideas!
