A day full of love - Stanzerei Baden

From the day I met Florian and Laura, I felt very lucky, to be the one who got to portrait their wedding day. We had coffee and the hour of our conversation flew by, it would be another handful of months until we saw again. We shared not only a passion for photography, but also, we shared our faith.

It was supposed to be the perfectly sunny autumn day, but things started to get a bit unexpectedly dark. Though no one allowed a single frown over this, because God is always good, in every situation - and this was no exception. And even though we ended up shooting at a completely different place than planned, it somehow was just the ideal setting for these two. Strolling through the halls and gardens where they actually met, this moment was powerful.

At the church we were filled with light. From the music, to the words spoken, to the feelings expressed… there were multiple occasions where I felt “at home” and I cannot really put into words why, but it felt like the right moment, the right time, to be at this place. One very special instance, was when the couple was surprised by their church choir, who stood up one by one, my eyes were not dry at this point.

After having some time with the guests, the couple wanted to have a “pic-nic”. Just the two of them, a form of debrief and stillness before the evening celebration. I thought this was a brilliant idea, and on top of that we were blessed with a soft sunset that set the mood.

The dinner took place at the Stanzerei Baden, in a candle-lit setting we were catered with the most delicious greek foods. Freshly baked pita-bread, creamy Tzaziki sauce… mmmm! To finish the evening, we were surprised by a secretly planned choreography from the couple and wedding party!

Thank you Laura and Florian for having us at your day and making us a part of your celebration, it was a joy to have met you!
